I can't believe there are only a couple of days left until I leave! I can't contain my excitement! I'll be studying abroad at the University of Manchester for my last fall quarter of college. I've always wanted to go to England, but I never imagined traveling to the UK until later in life. I didn't even think I'd be able to study abroad--I remember back in January when one of my closest friends (and best roommate ever) Stacie and I applied. We turned in our forms past the deadline (oops), and rushed to get our forms into the Study Abroad Center. Luckily it all worked out, and a couple of months later we got accepted! Waiting until September seemed like a lifetime. But now, the day is near.
I'm incredibly thankful for my parents for giving me this amazing opportunity. I know I'll miss my family like crazy, so I'll be spending every minute with them this last weekend at home. While I'm really excited to go, I'm also a bit scared because I've never traveled out of the country before. But thankfully Stacie will be coming along, so we'll be looking out for each other. Plus, this trip will be 100x more fun with her!
There are still quite a few things I need to take care of. I've surprisingly started packing though, and my luggage is already getting heavy. Let's just hope it doesn't go over the 50 lb limit.
